How to Measure Roller Blinds: Recess & Face Fit Guide
Decide on recess fit or face fit first
Before taking dimensions, decide where the roller blind will be mounted. Recess fit positions the blind within the opening. Face fit mounts it over the opening and can provide additional coverage.
Measure in millimetres
Use a steel tape and record the width and drop in millimetres. For recess openings, take more than one width measurement because walls and frames may not be perfectly square. Follow the exact ordering instructions for the selected product rather than automatically deducting from your measurements.
Check obstructions
Window handles, sliding-door hardware, architraves, tiles and other fittings can affect blind placement. Roll direction can also help with clearance.
Large or unusual windows
For large windows or commercial projects, supply photos, plans or a window schedule where possible. Motorisation may also be worth considering for high or frequently operated blinds.
