Helpful Information

Builder and installer guidance.

What clearances should be allowed for the curtain?

As a general planning guide, allow at least 40mm from the wall for a standard curtain and at least 60mm for an S-Wave curtain. For double systems, allow approximately 120mm for a standard plus S-Wave combination and approximately 140mm for two S-Wave curtains. Final spacing depends on fabric, fullness, heading, projection and site conditions.

How should Series 70 be installed?

Prepare a straight and parallel 14mm ceiling opening with suitable timber support above. Position the track before final plasterboard finishing, then fix through the pre-drilled countersunk holes using small-gauge countersunk screws and a small-diameter No. 1 driver. Tighten carefully so the screw head is flush and the internal running edge is not damaged. The plasterboard edge then rests on the track flange before stopping, sanding and painting.

How should the track be protected during plastering and painting?

Keep plaster compound, dust and paint out of the running channel. Where a runner-loading slot is supplied, the track may be left empty and the opening protected with painter’s masking tape. Remove the protection and load the runners only after plastering and painting are complete.

How does the optional runner-loading slot work?

The optional loading slot allows runners to be installed or removed after the ceiling is finished. A twist-lock cap covers the slot. For a curtain locked at the track end, place the final runner outside the cap. For a free-flowing curtain, reverse the cap so the twist lock sits at the end; in this arrangement the curtain may finish approximately 35mm from the end of the track.
